Pas-K Bois is a company dedicated to the responsible production of beautiful and unique olive wood products. Our products include household and kitchen items ranging from high-quantity spoons and cutting boards to one-of-a-kind bowls and table-top art objects. The founders, Marwa and Marcus Pasterkamp, have more than. 45 years’ experience in the olive wood business, serving customers around the world. Certified Quality
With Pas-K Bois products you can be assured certificates from BUREAU VERITAS, as well as “LFGB” and “Prop-65” tests have been passed. Our entire product range is GUARANTEED 100% food safe, treated with a certified oil-wax finish. In fact, an important benefit of the many years of experience of the founders Marwa & Marcus is the unmistakable Pas-K Bois finish. We use a finishing product developed and engineered in Germany, following Pasterkamp´s precise specifications and requirements. Our products have this wonderful smooth appearance while keeping the handmade character and natural beauty as well. No sharp edges or rough surfaces! This is exactly what makes us VERY different from ANY other competitor.
Respect For All
Pasterkamp has always believed the most important thing we can do is to run our business with most utmost respect. That is respect for the natural resources we use; for our staff, suppliers and customers who make the business thrive; and for the local customs and traditions of our craftswomen and men. It is not our nature to squeeze every last penny out of suppliers and retailers just for the sake of our short-term margins. Instead, we work diligently at building long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. We are sure this is the best way to grow a business dependably.
We learned to work “sustainable” long before this word became so popular. Every person at Pas-K Bois appreciates the scarcity and beauty of olive wood. We give full consideration to the limited resources of this beautiful, rare material. The wood used by Pas-K Bois is harvested in age-old olive fields around the factory. The trees we use are not giving enough olives anymore and are no longer productive. Otherwise, NO olive tree is cut down just for a few pounds of wood and a quick profit. No wood is wasted; we always try to find a solution to use even very small pieces and thus prevent senseless waste of raw material and man-power.
A reliable, efficient factory is also necessary for sustainability. We have our own electric power plant, so we can run any of our very powerful machines, whenever we need them, completely unaffected by problems with the local power supply. Preparations are also underway for installation of a Photovoltaic-system to utilize “green energy”!
Our “Respect For All” philosophy is perhaps most apparent in our relationship with the local community. Marwa Pasterkamp is very knowledgeable and well-informed in the olive wood business. She cares for the relationships with local suppliers. She also puts to good use her experience from working in the Association “Femmes Montrez vos Muscles” (women, show your skills). An important focus for Pas-K Bois is to bring in local women, based on their skills, to work in our company. The Pasterkamp family always had a great respect for their staff, and this continues at Pas-K Bois. Treating people with respect makes them proud of their work and by the end of the day it brings the best results in the production. THAT makes Pas-K Bois so different from competitors.
